Nadine Anderson Cheng

Nadine Anderson Cheng is a prolific figurative artist, her artwork has grown from traditional paintings to sculptural conversation mixed media pieces, and installations of video and photography. Her works yield whimsy, melancholy and introspection.

Nadine’s love of travel and living in 3 different regions - the Caribbean, America and Europe, all comes full circle to her never ending quest to use every day experiences as a starting point focused on what it means to be human in today’s society, with social and environmental commentary.

As humans we wear many masks. Nadine’s plaster media is moulded directly from the faces of herself, friends and family, taking with them a piece of who they are, and turning their stories into art attached to a soul.

Her mission is to create works that start a conversation, that leads to understanding and is a catalyst for positive change.

Nadine Anderson Cheng has a Master’s degree in Graphic/Environmental Design also an Honours Bachelor’s degree including intensive training in design, textiles, jewellery and sculpture.

Nadine has exhibited in the Caribbean, Florida, Chicago, New York, Köln, Basel, Geneva and London. She also donates her time and work with community projects to help women, children and the underprivileged. This endeavour includes working on her own, as well as with United Way, Ikea, Family Resource Centre and other charitable organizations.

 In 2020 she was awarded a grant by the city of Düsseldorf to create a series of sculptural installations made from metalwork and photography. Other projects include creating marketing workshops for artists and creating artist spaces in North Rhine Westphalia.
